USA Defends as World Champions; Women's Hockey Wins Gold

Hilary Knight was the overtime hero in the Gold medal game versus Canada at the 2017 Women’s World Championships.  With 10:17 on the clock in OT, Knight took a pass from Kendall Coyne and buried a shot bar-down

It was a Cinderlla story ending for Team USA after they boycotted Worlds due to stalled negotiations with USA Hockey days before Worlds began. Thankfully an unprecedented four-year deal was agreed upon with the US National Team, which lifted the boycott and allowed them to defend their title as World Champions.

To say this World Championship was one of the best to date would be an understatement. Finland knocked off Canada in preliminaries, Germany advanced to the semi-finals, and at least a dozen players, who you may have never heard of before, made a name for themselves.

USA defended as World Champions, but women’s hockey won Gold!

The game is growing.

The future is bright.
