SCSU Look to Find Their Winning Ways

Share

Despite a long holiday break the St. Cloud State Huskies haven’t been able to get their first “W” of the second half. Our first series of 2015 was a home series against Ohio State. Even though both games were hard-fought battles we weren’t able to pick up a win, losing Friday’s contest 3-1 and Saturday’s 4-0. The next weekend we found ourselves in two close games once again against #7 University of Minnesota Duluth (2-0 and 3-2), but unfortunately we didn’t come out on top.

This past weekend we ran into a very explosive Minnesota Gopher offense that jumped on us early Friday night and never looked back winning the game 4-0. Saturday’s game was a tighter game early, but soon turned Minnesota’s way early in the second period that continued into the rest of the game, good enough for a 7-1 win.

Despite the tough start to the second half of the season, the team and I are optimistic for what the rest of the season may bring. It’s sad to think there are only eight more regular season games left before playoffs. As a senior, I cherish every day I get to strap on the pads. With this coming weekend off, our next game is set for Monday, February 2nd against the Mankato Mavericks at All Seasons Arena in Mankato. Puck drop is slated for 7:07 P.M.
