Happy Holidays From Union

Happy Holidays!

It’s that time of year again where we take a quick break from the rink to embrace the holiday spirit. Whether it’s creating some serious bonding time with our pets, singing our hearts out to Christmas tunes, fighting our way through the hectic malls, scrambling to find last minute presents or just enjoying some quality time with our folks, the holidays never seem to be a dull moment. I mean, who doaesn’t love those repetitive yet dreadful questions at the holiday dinner table; how long are you here for? How is your team doing? Do you have a job lined up? Are you even going to graduate?  Welcome Home!

We all left the U after skating to a 1 all tie with the Main Black Bears on December 13th. Packing up the equipment, and hitting the road, is never an easy thing to do, but coming off a 5 game record of 3-1-1, only excites and assures each player, how much work needs to be done over the break so that we can continue in this direction. The anticipation and eagerness for our January 2rd game against Qpac is already felt, and we can’t wait to get back at it!

Prior to the holiday break, our team participated in adopt a family in which we raised over $900 to provide gifts for those children less fortunate. We split up into teams and spent the day driving around town, to provide gifts and help lift the spirits of these deserving kids. Upon arriving back at the rink, our team all gathered in front of the Christmas music, while some wrapped the presents, and those less coordinated, stuck on the bow. All in all it was a great day that not only put a smile on the kids faces, but ours as well. The holiday spirit was in full force!

I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays!

See U in the New Year!
