Chatham Cougars 2014-2015 Season Comes to An End

Share

Hello!

We have come to the end of our 2014-2015 season.  It was truly a record-breaking season.  Chatham ended with a record of 10-14-1, which totals to more wins than our team has ever had.  Twelve total individual records were also tied and or broken by various members of our team.

Marissa Janiga (First Year #27) tied the number of game-winning goals in a season and Jenny Jones (Sophomore #15) tied the record for short-handed goals.  Other notable records included Erika Bronk (Junior #16) who broke the record for career assists and goalie Megan Buchanan (Senior #39) who single-handedly broke nine records on her own in net during her four years at Chatham University.  We were playoff hopeful but fell just short, but we managed to win our final game of the season against Neumann which kept them from being playoff contenders this year.

Three seniors are graduating this year and will be embarking on their own post-graduate journeys.  Megan Buchanan (#39) is taking a year to work back at home before she pursues law school.  Clare Zupan (#22) plans on joining the Navy in the fall and Brittany Yoisten (#5) is hoping to pursue her master’s in criminal justice. Congratulations to all of you and we as a team wish you nothing but even more success in all you wish to do following your time at Chatham!

Looking ahead to next year, our team is excited for what our next season will bring.  Being my senior year as well as a few others on my team, our goal will be to further our successes even more and continue what we left this season with.

For more updates about our team, check out www.gochathamcougars.com for regular updates similar to mine written by a teammate of mine, Katrina Hawkins (#21).

Until next time,

Marie #4
