AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT: Lauryn Guevin | New Hampshire

Tell us about yourself!

My Name is Lauryn Guevin. I am a goalie from New Hampshire for the New England Wildcats. This year, I am crossing over from boys hockey and I’m really excited about that.  I started playing hockey later than most, I think I was seven. My dad and older brother are big hockey players, but for the longest time I was just happy skating on the pond.

What made you want to be a WHL Brand Ambassador?

I wanted to become an ambassador for Women’s Hockey Life to help other like-minded girls grow with this amazing game.  Playing hockey has done so much for my confidence, mindset and I have made a ton of friends along the way.

What are you most looking forward to as a #WHLAMBASSADOR?

I am most looking forward to making a lot of great friendships, connections through being a #WHLAmbassador.  I look up to the USA women’s team and they all have incredible stories and strong bonds with one another.

What’s something not a lot of people know about you?

I can full split save. I also play field hockey competitively.

If you could sit down and have dinner with one female hockey player, who would it be and why?

Katie Burt for sure.  She’s amazing to watch.  I got to see her practice with the Nashville Predators when I played in a tournament there a few years ago.  I only hope to follow in her footsteps at B.C. and beyond.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given in hockey or in life?

To have fun!  If you’re not having fun, there is no point in playing.

What’s your dream for women’s hockey?

Women’s hockey keeps reaching new heights.  As a youth player and new #WHLAmbassador, I only hope that more girls learn to love this game as much as I do. Thank you for this opportunity and see you at the rink!
