PWHPA SECRET® DREAM GAP TOUR TO RETURN TO MEDSTAR CAPITALS ICEPLEX MARCH 4-5

WASHINGTON, DC – Dec. 12, 2022 – For a second consecutive year, the Washington Capitals will host a stop in the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association’s Secret® Dream Gap Tour. The PWHPA will play four games of the tour from March 4-5 at MedStar Capitals Iceplex as part of the Capitals PWHPA Showcase.

Founded in 2019, the PWHPA features four teams comprised of over 100 of the world’s best women’s hockey players and was formed with the goal of creating a sustainable league that provides equity, fairness, and opportunity in women’s professional hockey.

The showcase will serve as the final weekend of the PWHPA regular season prior to the playoffs with each team playing one game on March 4 and another on March 5. More than 40 Team USA and Team Canada Olympians will be part of the tour. Select participants include:

Team USA – Kendall Coyne Schofield, Megan Keller, Amanda Kessel, Hilary Knight, and Maddie Rooney

Team Canada – Mélodie Daoust, Jocelyne Larocque, Sarah Nurse, Marie-Philip Poulin, and Emerance Maschmeyer

Individual day passes to two games will be available for $35, along with a weekend pass to all four games for $50. The first 250 tickets sold will include a custom Capitals PWHPA Showcase drawstring backpack.

In addition to these games, the Capitals and the PWHPA will present two clinics and one chalk talk opportunity for local women and girls. PWHPA athletes and coaches will lead instruction for both clinics as well as the adult chalk talk. Clinic and chalk talk participants will receive a complimentary showcase weekend pass, as well as exclusive event items and experiences.

Game 1            Saturday, March 4         Team Harvey’s vs. Team adidas             11:00 a.m.

Game 2            Saturday, March 4         Team Scotiabank vs. Team Sonnet         2:30 p.m.

Game 3            Sunday, March 5           Team Sonnet vs. Team Harvey’s            11:00 a.m.

Game 4            Sunday, March 5           Team adidas vs. Team Scotiabank          2:30 p.m.

Clinic/Chalk Talk Dates

High School Clinic                  Thursday, March 2                   6:00 p.m.

Youth Clinic                             Friday, March 3                        6:00 p.m.

Adult Chalk Talk                      Friday, March 3                        6:30 p.m.
