Chasing the Championship: PWHL Reveals Playoff Matchups and Schedule

Toronto selects Minnesota as its semifinal opponent, Montréal to play Boston

NEW YORK AND TORONTO (May 6, 2024) – Four Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) teams are Chasing the Championship with the inaugural PWHL Playoffs set to begin May 8. The two best-of-five semifinal series will feature PWHL Toronto against PWHL Minnesota, and PWHL Montréal against PWHL Boston.  

By finishing as the league’s first place team in the regular-season standings, Toronto earned the opportunity to select its opponent between third place Boston and fourth place Minnesota. The team announced its decision Monday evening on social media which made both semifinal matchups official. Montréal earned home ice advantage by finishing second in the standings. The winners of each series will advance to the PWHL Finals where they will compete for the Walter Cup.

Game 1: Minnesota at Toronto (Coca-Cola Coliseum) at 7:00 p.m. ET 

Friday May 10
Game 2: Minnesota at Toronto (Coca-Cola Coliseum) at 7:00 p.m. ET 

Monday May 13
Game 3: Toronto at Minnesota (Xcel Energy Center) at 8:00 p.m. ET 

Wednesday May 15*
Game 4: Toronto at Minnesota (Xcel Energy Center) at 8:00 p.m. ET 

Friday May 17*
Game 5: Minnesota at Toronto (Coca-Cola Coliseum) at 7:00 pm. ET

TSN and RDS are the exclusive home of the PWHL Playoffs with every game on TSN, TSN.ca, and the TSN app, with French-language coverage of all Montréal games and the PWHL Finals available on RDS. Regionally, Boston games will continue to be available on NESN, Minnesota games on Bally Sports North, and select games throughout the PWHL Playoffs on MSG Networks. All games will be streamed live on the league’s YouTube channel. 

Tickets for Toronto’s first two playoff games went on sale today and only limited standing room options remain. Tickets for a potential Game 5 in Toronto will go on sale on Thursday, May 8, at 4:00 p.m. ET via Ticketmaster.  

Montréal’s first two playoff games will go on sale to the public on Tuesday, May 7, at 12:00 p.m. ET via Ticketmaster.  

Ticket packages for Boston games will go on sale via Ticketmaster on Tuesday, May 7, at 4:00 p.m. ET, followed by single game tickets on Thursday, May 9, at 4:00 p.m. ET.  

Single game tickets in Minnesota will be available beginning Wednesday, May 8, at 12:00 p.m. ET via Ticketmaster.
