Meet Amanda LaMonda!

TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF!

I am from Saratoga, NY and I started playing hockey at six years old but took a few years off due to trying new sports and getting involved with softball. I’m 17 now and I started back up again, but took this year off my senior year.

I grew up with a hearing disorder and have hearing aids. I’ve gone through hockey coaches who did nothing but support me and it’s so tough to play hockey while having hearing aids but it’s made me stronger and who I am today.

WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO BE A WHL BRAND AMBASSADOR?

I am looking forward to inspiring other girls who love the game or have hearing aids to support them and know that life gets good.

WHAT’S SOMETHING NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT YOU?

I have a twin brother.

IF YOU COULD SIT DOWN AND HAVE DINNER WITH ONE FEMALE HOCKEY PLAYER, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

Hilary Knight because she is very inspiring and is so tough.

WHAT’S THE BEST ADVICE YOU’VE EVER BEEN GIVEN IN HOCKEY OR IN LIFE?

The best advice is that laughter is the best medicine.
