Returning for its 23rd year, the 14.5 hour marathon broadcast features all seven Canadian NHL teams in action across Sportsnet, Sportsnet 360, Citytv, SN NOW, OMNI, and CBC. Hosted by Ron MacLean live from Owen Sound, Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada will also include a variety of special guests and features to promote the growth of inclusion and diversity in hockey as part of Scotiabank’s hockey for all initiative.
“Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada is all about celebrating and growing the sport by sharing inspiring stories from across the country, and showcasing hockey’s best on a national stage,” said Bart Yabsley, President, Sportsnet. “Welcoming the PWHPA into the fold is a natural evolution for the event and a perfect way to kick off the full-day broadcast on Sportsnet.”
This season marks the third iteration of the Secret® Dream Gap Tour and comes as part of Secret Deodorant’s ongoing commitment to the PWHPA, underscoring their belief that equal sweat deserves equal opportunity. Since 2020, Secret Deodorant committed over $2 million to the PWHPA, ensuring players are given access to suitable training facilities, opportunities to compete at an elite level and visibility to continue building a fan base. With more games played in the first half of the season than ever before—and more events to be announced for the second half— this season has been the most expansive Secret® Dream Gap Tour to date.
With support from Secret and the national platform provided by Sportsnet, this partnership will continue to increase the visibility of PWHPA players, while also providing the opportunity for fans across Canada to watch these world-class players on television.
