WHAT IS WHL SKILLS?

If you haven’t heard about the WHL Skills challenge, you’re in for a treat!

We’ve teamed up with US Olympians Brianna Decker and Kacey Bellamy to bring you off-ice skills training you can do anywhere to improve your hands on the ice—all you need is a stick, a ball or a puck, and some room to practice!

The skills get tougher each week and the videos are released on our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter each Wednesday.

Ready to start the challenge? Here’s how to participate:

  • Stay tuned to our social channels each Wednesday for the new video release
  • To catch up on weeks that you missed, simply search #WHLSkills on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter and do the skills in order OR check our website at the end of each month for a recap of the WHL Skills video
  • Post videos and photos of you participating in the challenge by tagging us and using #WHLSkills and you’ll be entered to win WHL Gear (we’ll be drawing random winners throughout the challenge)!
    • NOTE: If your social media account is private, we won’t be able to see what you post, so either make your account public or send us your content directly to be entered!
  • Lastly, have FUN! We can’t wait to see your skills improve during the #WHLSkills Challenge!

SKILL: Basic Stick Handle

DURATION: 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off for 10 minutes. Repeat 3x.⁠

SKILL: Wide Stick Handle with Dribble

DURATION: 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off for 10 minutes. Repeat 3x.⁠

SKILL: Stick Handle Side to Side

DURATION: 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off for 10 minutes. Repeat 3x.⁠
