After being back on campus for a little over a month now, the team has started to come together to form one cohesive unit. Although bonding and friendship continues over the course of the season, it is during preseason that it truly begins. We have welcomed the freshmen into the squad and they are adapting very well. The sophomore and junior classes have come back strong and ready. The senior class has already shown its maturity and willingness to step up and lead the team. This season will be a very exciting year for Trinity Women’s Hockey.
This season will be eventful for a number of reasons, one of those being our trip to Minnesota. For the last eight months we have been working hard to raise money for our trip to Minnesota where we will be playing three games. The team has done a number of events to earn money to offset the costs including rally towels, koozies, and raffle tickets. We will continue to raise money over the next few weeks. A lot of effort has been put in by the entire team which will make this trip even more special because we will have worked hard for this opportunity. Playing in Minnesota will give us the chance to play other teams that we wouldn’t ordinarily play and a chance to grow even closer and to mature as a team before we face other NESCAC teams. It will be a fun and rewarding trip.
This past month the team has experienced loss. A few of our teammates had to make the incredibly difficult decision to not play hockey this year. It is saddening to lose a teammate no matter the circumstances, however they will always remain our teammates and more importantly our friends. To the girls, we support and love you!
Keep calm, and Cheeky on.
