Happy American Thanksgiving!
I have many things to be thankful for in my life: my family, my friends, my teammates, my health, including the week off from school that we get for Thanksgiving break! This year our team is voyaging on a weeklong adventure around the northwest. For those of you who think this trip would be a bad idea, let me assure you, it’s not.
We departed from Pittsburgh on Monday after practice and headed towards Hamilton, New York to play the Colgate Warriors. Our victory came on Tuesday night with a 5-2 win. On Wednesday we departed for Long Island, New York. Wednesday was our day off from the week where we stopped for a day to have a Thanksgiving dinner complete with turkey, potatoes, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie; after which, was followed up by a little trip to a mall and a NHL game between the Islanders and Flyers. On Thursday we departed for Storrs, Connecticut. Thursday consisted of a flow practice and a team trip to the movies. Half of us saw “Arthur’s Christmas” while the rest of us went to see the ever so popular “Breaking Dawn- Part 1.” This is our last stop of the trip, where we will be playing in the Nutmeg Classic. This tournament has four participants: Yale, Connecticut, Quinnipiac, and Us (Robert Morris).
Tomorrow at 7pm we play Yale. Our day will consist of breakfast, pre-game skate, pre-game meal, and pre-game nap all while mentally tuning in to the next important game, that game.
Saturday at 7pm will host the championship game.
