TORONTO, ON – October 7, 2021

– The Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) announced today that the upcoming season will feature an all-new All-Star team, sponsored by Secret® Deodorant. The team— which will be known as the Secret® All-Star Team— will compete throughout the season against various women’s national teams leading up to the 2022 Winter Olympics, the details of which will be announced in the coming weeks.

The sponsorship from Secret Deodorant comes as a continuation of the brand’s commitment to ensuring the best women’s hockey players are given an opportunity to compete as they advocate for a new and equitable professional women’s hockey league.

“Secret believes that equal sweat deserves equal opportunity which is why we are so excited to be evolving our partnership with the PWHPA,” says Secret® Executive Director Lisa Reid. “The development of this All-Star team will allow us to further support the incredible talent in this group by providing them with even more opportunities to play and help their peers prepare for the Olympic stage.”

A new, specialized jersey— designed by adidas— will be revealed on the PWHPA’s social channels in the coming days. Rosters for the Secret® All-Star team will vary by event and will be chosen by the GMs and coaches of the five PWHPA hubs.

“We are thrilled to be able to provide more opportunities for our players this season, in addition to the Secret Dream Gap Tour,” said Jayna Hefford, PWHPA Operations Consultant. “The PWHPA All-Star teams will compete against the best in the world, to showcase the depth of talent in our sport and continue to drive awareness towards a sustainable future for women’s professional hockey. We are thankful to have Secret Deodorant as a sponsor and partner to help us with our mission.”

Last season, Secret® committed one million dollars to the PWHPA, which helped fund several Secret Dream Gap Tour showcases.
