Since the last time I wrote, us Pandas have had a strong start to our season. Starting with a positive, fun competitive atmosphere in the dressing room, our team has grown so much stronger in these few months of training. For the most part were putting pucks away, as well as our goalies are keeping the pucks out. Playing in such a tight league where the standings are only separated by a point or two, no team has solidified a for-sure first place spot but this is our goal going into the Christmas break.
We have two games left in the first half and they’re against Manitoba, in Manitoba. That weekend is huge for us, and if we can string together 120mins of consistent Panda hockey then there will be no problem flying home with four points.
The Pandas have a very tight-knit group this season, which is a major contributor to our on ice success. Our hard work in practice seems to be paying off in games where we’ve scored 4+ goals-which was a rarity last year when most games were won by one goal. As well as a number of shut outs for our goalies. So long as we keep playing consistently, and to our strengths I have no doubt there is no way but up from here.
