Pandas Are Heading to the CanWest Finals and Nationals!

Hey Everyone!

Well the end is drawing near and we are heading into the CanWest finals this weekend. We ended up finishing first in the league, in which case we have home-ice advantage for both rounds of playoffs which will benefit us for sure.  We swept U of Saskatchewan in a best of three this past weekend and our team is really coming together. We played so well and you can tell that everyone has the same determination and goals in mind.

This weekend we are playing Manitoba. Surprisingly, they defeated the Calgary Dinos in two games. I thought for sure that their series was going to go into a third game. And, Wickenheiser was back playing for these playoff games so it was a surprise that’s for sure. Nonetheless, we are currently preparing to play Manitoba who we have been in the CanWest final with for the past couple of years so we have quite the rivalry with them!

The nice thing about this year is that since we won Nationals last year, we get to send two teams from our conference to Nationals this year. So no matter what, both us and Manitoba will be going to Nationals. However, that does not mean we are going to be taking this weekend lightly. One of our team goals is obviously to finish first in CanWest and we will do whatever it takes to accomplish this goal.

Unfortunetly, my hockey career is almost over. I only have 3 more weeks left to appreciate playing at an elite level and then I will be graduating and moving on with my career. I am so happy that our team has come this far and knowing that we are going to Nationals again makes the ending of this season absolutely perfect.

I will keep everyone posted on how well we do at Nationals this year!
