NAIT Ooks Win First Ever ACAC Championship!

Hello Blog Followers!

I hope everyone had a fantastic month of March and that your Easter weekend went well! I am so excited to write this new blog and fill you in on the great month the NAIT Ooks had!

History has been made by the Women’s Hockey Team at NAIT! It was by far a dream season and we won our first ever ACAC Championship!! We played a best out of five series against the Red Deer Queens in the final and managed to walk away with a 3-1 record! Obviously we were hoping to win on home ice, but we ended up winning in Red Deer and it was still an unreal moment and celebration!

I have never been on a team where the girls are so determined and committed! I don’t think this championship would have been possible if we didn’t show up to the rink wanting to be better every practice, training session and game! I strongly believe that is what won us our first gold medal! We were also so lucky to have the coaching staff we did. They believed in us every step of the way and pushed us to be our best because they knew we were capable of completing our end goal, which was the ACAC Championship!

Since our season has ended, we have done our celebrating but have now started to hit the gym again! We figured it would be best if we kept a good habit of going to work out to stay in shape and to keep our coach happy, obviously! She likes to think she is stronger than most of us, so we need to keep up with our workouts. replica watches

We are now in our last month of classes and I cannot believe how fast time has flown by. School is starting to get pretty crazy with assignments and exams! Also coming up is our Athletic Banquet which is being held next Friday! All of the Athletes, Coaches and Athletic Department Staff have a meal together and then there is an awards ceremony. It is a great night and it will be awesome to celebrate all the accomplishments our Athletic Teams have had this year! Our Men’s Hockey team won gold as well, along with the Women’s Soccer and Volleyball! The Women’s Basketball team managed to earn their first ever bronze medal which is super awesome and the Men’s Soccer team won gold too! It was an absolute great season for the Ooks Athletic Program!rolex replica

Other than all the great news mentioned above, there is not much else I can tell you! I was fortunate to be able to head home to Manitoba for the weekend to see my family! It was a very quick trip but well worth it. The Royal Manitoba Winter Fair was on in Brandon so I was able to go watch the Super Dog show! No one can ever be too old for that!

I hope you all have a great month of April and keep your fingers crossed that there will be no more snow!
