It’s the start of a new school year and a new season! After a fun Summer of tubing, tanning, swimming, lying down, relaxing, and I guess training too, everyone’s ready to get back into the swing of things here on the Heights. These next couple of days, the lady eagles hockey team will be moving back into Edmonds, I mean campus, and begin yet another journey together. The first few days are always about welcoming the newcomers, so this inaugural blog post will be dedicated to the freshmen and their move-ins. However, the upperclassmen (and sophomores) are also looking forward to getting to know the newbies! So everybody…..meet the BCWIH Freshmen, Class of 2018:

This is Kali Flanagan (left) and Gabri Switaj (right). Kali Flanagan is from Burlington, Massachusetts and previously played for NSA (short for National Sports Academy). Kali says one thing she is definitely excited about at BC is playing hockey. Welcome Kali! Gabri Switaj is from Cleveland, Ohio and previously played for Culver Academy. Gabri is one of our new goalies and played with Meghan (Grieves) Grieves at while at Culver. Welcome Gabri!

This is Tori Sullivan (right). Megan Keller is on the left in blue, but we will get to her later. Tori is from Detroit, Michigan and previously played for Honeybaked (as did Keller, and fellow sophomores Haley McLean and Andie Anastos). Tori says she is looking forward to playing hockeyhere for the Boston College Eagles. And we are looking forward to having her. Welcome Tori!

This is Toniann Miano. She is from the Bronx, New York and previously played for NAHA (short for North American Hockey Academy). She joins fellow NAHA alumni, juniors Kaliya Johnson and Taylor Blake on the Eagles hockey team. You can tell how excited she is by her facial expression in this photo. Welcome Toni!

This is Megan Keller. She is from Farmington Hills, Michigan and previously played for Honeybaked. She will be joining Tori and the other Honeybaked alumni, Haley McLean and Andie Anastos. This is Megan’s first day in her new locker room stall. She says she is excited for the hockey season to start—so excited that she refuses to leave her new stall until practices begin (just kidding, but she is very happy about her stall location next to THE one and only Meghan (Grieves) Grieves—the two Meg(h)ans!) Welcome Megan!

This is Kenzie Kent. She is from Norwell, MA. She previously played hockey for Nobles and Assabet Valley. As she sits in her new bed in her new dorm room, she is thinking about all the adventures to come in her future at BC. She specifically shared with us that she is really excited to meet new people here at Boston College during her freshman year. It has also been said that she is excited for the pulled pork sandwiches as well. Welcome Kenzie!

This is Katie Burt. She is from Lynn, Massachusetts and previously played for BB&N (short for Buckingham Browne & Nichols) and the East Coast Wizards. Don’t be fooled by this picture to the left, as Katie is one of our two freshmen goalies joining us this season! We are excited to meet Katie and witness her versatility with the different positions she could play on the ice for us this season. Welcome Katie!
