Hey you all!
I haven’t updated my blog for a while but here it comes!
So, I decided to stay in Finland instead of going back to States. The summer went alright, I had a little bit rough time with finding a job and getting used to actually living back in my home country. Even though I was away for four years of my life, it made a big change in me. I barely remembered how to speak Finnish!! hah.
I’ve lived with my mom for couple months and yesterday I moved into my new apartment with a friend! I’m going to miss mommy’s food but I guess it’s time for me to live on my own already 🙂
I’m playing again in Jyväskylä, for the team that once upon a time I started playing hockey at. The team is called JYP – we have done great so far. We also have a very successful men’s hockey team here in Jyväskylä. Right now we have had 17 games;14 wins, 3 losses – which ranks us 2nd in the Finnish Championship League for women. Our team is really good and everyone wants to win and wants to get better. We all believe that we can win the whole thing. It would be great celebrating the Finnish Championship this year!
I’ve also been working – at the stores and restaurants and concerts. But, today I stated at my new job as a personal assistant for a blind lady. It seems like a nice job and I will get good hours so I can pay rent, bills, hockey, and food. It’s been rough, but the thing that keeps me going everyday, is the feeling what you get when you’re on the ice and you can forget about the outside world. All you have at that moment is the game that you love, and your teammates that are always there for you when you need them. All you want to do is to sacrifice everything that you got for the others because you know that they would do the same for you.
Do what you love, love what you do.
