We are officially two weeks away from regular season. Our first game is non-conference, but we are looking forward to the beginning of November when we travel for our first conference weekend against Plattsburgh.
We are halfway into our first semester and it’s gone by so fast already. Plenty of things are coming up on our schedule prior to regular season: our annual fitness testing, our first ever alumni game, and not to mention midterms and the academic side of things. We all just can’t wait to get through fitness testing because we are ready and it signifies season really beginning.
Our alumni game will be an exciting event because our team this year will be volunteering and preparing for the event. It will also be fun to see some of the alumni from previous years and seeing where they are now and what they are up to after graduation.
An exciting addition to our training has been the creation of a shooting room in the athletic center. Since our rink is off campus, our coach has found a place for us to practice shooting during the week. Our team has really enjoyed having access to the room and it’s improving our form, accuracy, and speed of our shots.
As a team, we are motivated and ready for season to start. The events in the next few weeks are just hurdles but after that, we hit the ground running. We can’t wait to start season and work towards our goals.
Happy October! Hockey season is here!
