Carson Duggan Leaves Trinity for Ohio State

Hey y’all!

Hope everyone is enjoying the first few weeks of summer! We ended the year with a great end of the year banquet in honor of our 5 wonderful seniors, Britney Ryan, Chelsea Campbell, Hillary McNamara, Beth Hitchcock, and Rebecca Rosen! We all finished the year really strong both in the weight room and in the classroom. After a tough exam week I headed back to Nashville where the beach soon awaited me. After a nice long week and a half at the beautiful beach in Perdido Key Florida I am back to reality with the start of Genetics Class looming over my head.

As for summer plans I am in Nashville all summer taking a class and hopefully interning at a local veterinary hospital. I am currently suffering a stress fracture in my back, so playing hockey is on hold for the moment. But, in no time at all I will be back to playing and lifting at full strength. I would also like to take this moment to recognize and congratulate Emily Kleidon for being elected our captain for next year and Lauren Glynn for being elected assistant. I know they will work well together to make our season enjoyable both on and off the ice. They are also going to play a huge role in our transition as we recently found out our head coach, Carson Duggan, took an assistant coaching position at Ohio State. Carson has been with me at Trinity since my freshman year so I know my grade is especially sad to see her go. Although it will be a tough transition we are all very excited for her, as we know that she is going to be happy at her new job. We are also excited to see who the new coach is, and where the season will take us. We are a very close-knit team, so a change in the coaching staff is not something that will get in the way of our success next season.

I hope that everyone has a great summer and gets to play a lot of hockey I know I am really bummed I can’t be! I’m sure I will write again towards the end of the summer and hope soon to bring good news about a new head coach of the Trinity Women’s Ice Hockey team.

Happy summer!
