Happy Belated Thanksgiving from the Bladies!
After a successful road sweep at Montreal, the Bladies took a much needed break to down some turkey and spend some time getting caught up with family and friends. I personally brought two fellow Bladies home for the holidays, making it the second year in a row it was a very Bladey Thanksgiving in the Cahow household. Gig Marvin and Kate Buesser were the lucky winners this year though in the past Whitney Naslund and even coach Mariel Lacina have made cameos around our table.
We had an absolute blast in Vinalhaven, ME, eating lobster, making bonfires and even going for a traditional Polar Bear plunge in a local granite quarry on Thanksgiving Day! We Bladies sure do live on the edge. After all that mischief we were happy to get back to business with two exciting games against the Russian National Team this week. We were proud to help Team Russia in their efforts to evaluate their players in contention for the Olympic Team. Tuesday night was also our official home opener at the Veterans Memorial in Somerville so thank you to everyone for coming out and cheering us to a great first victory in our new home!
Today we head to New Haven, CT and the campus of Yale University for our first outreach game of the season. We will be taking on perennial rivals, the Brampton Hockey Club. We went back and forth with Brampton trading wins all last season, and with great draft pick additions to both rosters, this year should be no different!
See you on the ice!
