Bisons Look Ahead To An Exciting Year With Fresh Meat

It’s that time of year,

The Bisons Womens hockey team is at it again! This is not the same Bisons that some may remember, as this year’s edition includes ten new rookies. We have been extremely busy the past couple weeks, as per usual. This year we have been blessed by the hockey gods and have managed to keep our Terry bods to a minimum and have only done ONE infamous psycho circuit! Needless to say we will be lacking necks by the end of the season.  Even without the nerves of the pending workouts, this preseason has been nothing short of exciting!

We have played quite a few different teams all providing their own challenges for The “Rammy” Herd! One of the highlights so far has been playing against AAA boys. It definitely set the tone for the rest of the year and proved that even though body checking is illegal out muscling isn’t. An honourable mention for hits goes out to Maggie Litchfield-Medd who took out two gals in one shift this past weekend in the Regina at the Mandi Schwartz tournament. The Bisons finished with a 1-1-1 record and faced some ups and downs in the 3 games played. As suspected new rivals were gained and old rivals flourished and left us feeling even more pumped up to start the season on October 3rd in Regina.

Lastly, we would like to send out congratulations to our new captain Maggie Litchfield-Medd, and assistants Michelle Pawluk, Lindsay Blight and Kayleigh Wiens! Also an even bigger congrats to Bisons alumni Kristin Cockerill on her recent engagement, we all can’t wait for the wedding social… oh and of course the wedding!
