Happy Halloween!! The Bisons have gotten into the full Halloween spirit during this final week of October! There was a viewing of Hocus Pocus at DraculAmy’s apartment, appearances by the ghouls of Bisons past at practice, sightings of a minotaur resembling Billy the Bison under the stands, and who can forget the elusive Meesh Kardashian performing her room duties in a maid costume. Earlier this month, the herd headed up to a farm outside of Stonewall for a spooktacular time at the corn maze and haunted barn. Though at first some of us were skeptical about the farm being truly haunted, the supernatural forces made their presence known when Mac was bonked on the head with a cob of corn that came hurdling out of thin air. Due to the fact that corn throwing was strictly prohibited, the only logical answer to the flying cob was that there was indeed a ghoul in our midst.
As spooky and exciting as the month of October was, we are greatly anticipating the start of November, in part because it marks the beginning of Christmas Carols within the Bison dressing room, featuring yuletide favorites such as “Mary’s Boy Child” and “Good King Wenceslas.”
The herd also found a lot of success on the ice this busy month, compiling several wins on the road, and a sweep against Mount Royal at home, which marks our first home sweep since January of last season. Every player on the roster has been chipping in to provide a competitive atmosphere in both games and practice, and we are looking forward to carrying that energy onward to our big tilt against Regina this weekend at home. Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!!
