Hello again!
It is finally October and the Chatham Cougars are one month closer to the start of our season! We have finished up our captain’s practices for the year. As a senior it is strange to think how fast preseason practices flew by these past two months. Captain’s practices are always a lot of fun—including taking turns in net when needed—and we get to see how we play with one another and what this season will bring to the table.
We also have finally seen our new locker room, which is extremely exciting to officially have a home for our team. I can personally attest to the fact that our coaching staff, the school, and the ice hockey program have worked extremely hard to provide what our team has been provided at our new rink. It will not only greatly benefit our team this season, but many future incoming classes. Thank you to everyone who contributed to our new home and our beautiful locker room!
October is one of our busier pre-season months, as we start official practice this next week and we have our fitness testing as well in the two weeks. Our second annual alumnae game is also coming up and we help work the event as a team. Following all of this, we open our season against Plattsburgh the second weekend of November on our home ice, which is in less then three weeks! We’re all excited and can’t wait to see what our team accomplishes this year.
Until next time,
Marie #4
