NWHL Season Six: Everything you need to know

Share

The NWHL will be hosting their Sixth Season at the 1980 Rink-Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, NY starting January 23rd through February 5th, 2021.

The bubble season will allow for each team, including the newest franchise, The Toronto Sixth, to play five games each. Obviously, this is a very shortened season, but that leaves little room for error to secure a spot in the Isobel Cup Finals.

History being made:

Fans are getting excited for this bubble season and there are many aspects to be excited about. Despite having a condensed season, the NWHL will have an all-female officiating crew thanks to assistance from USA Hockey. According to a NWHL Press Release there has never been an all-female officiating crew of this caliber before.

Another historic moment within this season is that two games will be aired live on NBC. It is the first time professional women’s hockey games will air live on a major national cable network in the United States.

Where to watch:

Fans can support their favorite team by streaming all games live on NWHL on Twitch .
