HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 2019 flew by! This past year has given me so many opportunities and chances to grow, become stronger and happier. 2019 has taught me how to not give up, even when I think my only hope to be on a girls’ team has been crushed. 2019 has taught me how to play smart and learn from my mistakes. It’s pretty crazy to look back on where I was this time last year and see how much I have grown. To see all the challenges I overcame and worked through.

In last month’s blog, I mentioned that I’m not that big into New Year’s resolutions. I believe that if you want something bad enough, you should go for it and not wait for a new year to make a change. This year I’m going to continue to work hard and to inspire others. This year I want to push myself outside my comfort zone and go further on and off the ice.

Over this past month, I met up with my friends who I met at hockey camp. I haven’t seen them in over a year or so. I watched them play at their games and I also met with their coaches to talk to them about maybe playing for their team in a tournament and showcase. They gave me their contact info and told me to email them and they will let me know! I am very excited. This will be a time to finally get exposure in women’s hockey and to play with my friends.

Also, my high school coach is setting up a college combine for the juniors and seniors to go to and be able to showcase themselves for college scouts! I’ve never done anything like that before! I’m excited! Plus, my house league team that I play for is doing well and I am doing great playing with tougher and older kids.

2020 is going to be a bright one for me and for you! The new year is about celebrating your highs and lows of the past year and growing from them in the new year! Let’s set up goals this year and light that lamp! I hope you enjoyed the holidays with your loved ones and I will talk to you next month!
